About the Knowledge Management System (KMS) and the Knowledge Base

Important:
Later in 2024, Indiana University will retire the Knowledge Management System (KMS) and move the IU Knowledge Base to the ServiceNow Knowledge platform. For more, see About the IU Knowledge Base transition to ServiceNow Knowledge. If you have questions or would like to have a conversation about the migration, contact the Knowledge Management team at kb@iu.edu.

The IU Knowledge Management System (KMS) is a component content management system providing editing, reporting, and optimization tools for the UITS Knowledge Management (KM) team and content owners.

The KMS supports:

  • Vetting by content stakeholders
  • Content visibility to various audiences
  • Content re-use, wherein content chunks of any size can be maintained in one place and used throughout the system
  • Staging content for later publication
  • Delivery of content to websites and applications via API, including this Knowledge Base

Email the KM team at kb@iu.edu.

The IU Knowledge Base (KB) addresses topics about information technology at IU. The KM team works with technology service providers throughout IU to make both public and internal information available for the IU community.

You can use the search box above to find information you need; for more, see Knowledge Base search help.
