Overview

Note:

Students who are admitted but not yet enrolled can only open web pages on eduroam or IU Secure. Other internet services (for example, email or chat clients, gaming services, etc.) will not work until you have enrolled status.

Configure your device

For details about setting up a BlackBerry device, see Set up email on a BlackBerry.

If you wish to configure a BlackBerry 10 device to connect to your Indiana University Exchange account, these instructions should be helpful, but may not necessarily be exact:

  1. From the "Home" screen, tap Setup.
  2. Under "Get Connected", tap Accounts. If you have an existing account already added, tap Add Account.
  3. At the bottom of the screen, tap Advanced or BlackBerry advanced icon.
  4. Tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, and then for:
    • Description: Enter IU.
    • Domain: Enter ads.iu.edu.
    • Username: Enter your IU username.
    • Email Address: Enter the primary email address for your IU Exchange account (for example, username@iu.edu).
    • Password: Enter your IU passphrase.
    • Server address: Enter eas.exchange.iu.edu.
    • Port: Enter 443.

    Leave all other settings at their default values.

  5. In the upper-right corner, tap Next.
  6. Verify all sync settings for email, contacts, calendar, tasks, and memos.
  7. Tap Done.

Set default accounts

To set default accounts for email and event invitations:

  1. At the bottom of the "Accounts" screen, tap Set Defaults.
  2. From the drop-down menus, select the default email addresses you want to use for sending email and event invitations.
Note:
IU allows Exchange partnerships with up to 10 mobile devices. If you experience issues setting up an Exchange account on your mobile device, you may want to verify how many devices you have partnered with Exchange; see Manage your Exchange ActiveSync device in Outlook on the web.
