Cyrus mail is Indiana University's IMAP email system. You can access your Cyrus mail account through IU Webmail or via a desktop client such as Mac OS X Mail or Thunderbird. For a list of available desktop clients and links to configuration instructions, see ARCHIVED: Reading your Cyrus email .

In Cyrus mail, users do not receive their email on an individual IMAP server. Instead, the single hostname imap.iu.edu connects users to the IMAP environment, where mail is stored on a SAN (Storage Area Network). The default storage allotment for Cyrus mail is 500 MB.

For more information about the email systems available at IU, see Your IU email address
