Problems with office voice mail

At IUB, two specific problems may occur with office voice mail:

Voice mail may not pick up, and your phone may simply continue to ring.
If you are talking on the phone, callers may receive a busy signal, rather than your voice mail greeting.

To diagnose the problem, contact your telecommunications coordinator to find out if programmable features were requested for your telephone.

If your telephone service correctly has programmable features:
- If your phone is not answered in three rings, pick up the handset and dial *9969800. This should clear the problem.
- If callers hear a busy signal rather than your voice mail greeting, pick up the handset and dial *9869800. This should clear the problem.
If programmable features were not requested for your telephone, ask your telecommunications coordinator to contact UITS Support Center Telephone Services at 812-856-2287.
