Guest account basics
If you have no formal relationship with Indiana University, you can use the Account Management Service (AMS) to create a Guest account, which will give you limited access to certain online applications and services of the university. The amount of access is determined by the particular application.
Guest accounts are entirely separate from Network Access accounts (for visitors such as conference attendees), and IU Affiliate accounts (for people associated with IU, such as contractors and researchers).
To create a Guest account, see Getting a Guest account
Note: For all Guest accounts, the full email address
provided (e.g., foo@hotmail.com) is the
account's username. You must enter the full address
when asked for a username to successfully log into
(authenticate to) the online applications and services of
the university.
Note: IU Guest accounts do not have access to all the services offered by UITS or the university. Among the services not available to Guest accounts are IUware (software available for download), email (including IU Webmail), and access to computers in IU Student Technology Centers.
Note: Guest accounts will not allow authentication to ITHelpLive, but Guest account users may use all the other support options described in Campus Support Centers
