About collecting data from students

The US federal government regulates research involving human subjects, and thus substantial regulations are in place concerning the collection and use of information supplied by respondents to surveys and other such data collection tools.

Campus Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) oversee Indiana University's compliance with federal human subjects regulations.
